Uganda
Called the „Pearl of Africa“ by the British – being situated at 1.000m above sea level on the East African plateau.
The climate is tropical with a lot of sun benefited by sufficient rain to produce multiple harvests per year. The growing fruits are bananas, papayas, mangos and pineapples.
The most important goods for resale are coffee, tea, tobacco, bananas, cocoa and gold. There are safe trade routes on the way to Mombasa (Kenya), a good infrastructure by highways to Kampala, a solid involvement into the emergent east African economic union with Kenya.

Learning and living
in a college with the cycle of the sun. Lecturers and employees live with their families together with the students on the college campus. The college is autonomous. Groceries will be extensively self – produced in the agricultural sector, water supply is guaranteed by its own water supply wells. From 9am on 80% of the solar energy will be available through the solar plant. Therefore we will do the energy-intensive practical project work in between 9am and 3pm. The 20% peak load energy will be used in between 11am and 1pm for cooking. Since we work with LED-lighting in the dark times of the day, it is possible to minimize the expensive battery-storage for the buffer energy. The energy – intensive machine work will be adapted to the available solar energy for the same reason.
